When you arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport for your Kilimanjaro trek, safari, and Zanzibar Beach adventure, you will be picked up and driven to your pre-booked accommodation in Moshi. You’ll meet your guide from Tranquil Kilimanjaro, who will give you a rundown of your forthcoming walk and check your gear to make sure you have everything you need for the mountains. On this day, you can hire any equipment that is lacking.
At approximately 8:00 am, a driver will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the Londorossi gate, which is on the western side of Kilimanjaro, where you will be transferred to the Lemosho route. After registering at the gate, you will still begin your ascent through the Lemosho glades’ woodlands in order to get to Big Tree camp, where you will spend the night.
You will be hiking on a plateau of green moorland and heather today, which is dotted with lava rock formations. The Shira 1 Camp, from where it is frequently possible to see Kibo Peak floating above the clouds, is where we will be traveling today. We will pause for lunch before traveling to Shira Two Camp. While traveling, we will get the opportunity to see the Northern Ice fields from the mountain’s western side and experience some remarkable Kibo vistas. In addition to enjoying fantastic panoramic vistas, our slow ascent through the Shira Plateau’s moorland will aid in acclimatization. The Shira 2 Camp is where we’re going today. The next day, you’ll go on an acclimatization walk before returning to camp for dinner and the night.
Your hike for the day begins with a climb that offers expansive panoramic views as you make your way into the upland desert’s climate zone and through lava ridges that are buried beneath the Western Breach’s glaciers. You will arrive at the distinctive peak of the Lava Tower (4640 m), our day’s high point and a fantastic location for lunch. Our tent for the night is at the bottom of the Great Barranco Valley (3960 m), protected by enormous cliffs but with expansive views of the plains below. We descend steeply to get there in the late afternoon.
We begin our day by descending into the Great Barranco, a sizable ravine. The Great Barranco Wall, which separates us from the southeast slopes of Kibo, is then climbed steeply as we leave. It’s a lengthy and taxing climb over granite that requires minimal technical skill. We move in the direction of the Karanga valley while passing beneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers. From here, it is a difficult ascent from Karanga valley to our overnight camp at 3963m-elevation Karanga camp. If enough people are up for it, we’ll do an afternoon acclimatization hike up to about 4200 meters before returning to camp for the night.
We started our hike to Barafu camp at 4,640m after a restful night’s sleep and breakfast. We will traverse barren scree slopes along the ascent with no flora in sight. The altitude makes the uphill hike much more challenging. After arriving at the campgrounds, we eat and use the afternoon to relax before a hard night and the next day. It’s crucial to stay warm and hydrated. We have dinner early and then attempt to get some rest since we have to get up between 11 and 12 in the morning to begin the ascent.
Around midnight, we set out on a difficult ascent to the top glaciers. We will spend 4 to 5 hours ascending scree yet cover a modest distance to reach spectacular heights. The vistas are breathtaking. As the sun rises, we should be near Stella Point (5739m), on the crater rim. We are surrounded by stunning ice cliffs inside the crater, and we have breath-taking vistas of the craggy Mawenzi peak and beyond. We must hike for a further hour to reach the peak, Uhuru Peak (5895m). After leaving Stella Point, we start our descent by making our way back to Barafu Camp for breakfast before making our way down to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.
We make a leisurely descent through the rainforest to the Mweka Gate, where we finish park formalities and earn certificates that you may display with pride! Afterward, our vehicles are waiting to pick us up, and we head back to the hotel in Moshi where you may treat yourself to a nice shower before toasting with cool beverages. Overnight at the hotel in Moshi, you’ve reserved.
After breakfast, your driver will be waiting at your accommodation, ready to depart for Tarangire National Park in about two hours. The wonder of this natural reserve is enhanced by the enormous baobab trees, the bush savannah, and the periodic marshes. One of the finest sites to see elephants up close is the Tarangire National Park. Additionally, the park is home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, all of which are always being attentively watched by a variety of predators including lions. Although cheetahs are rarely observed, leopards are occasionally sighted. You may take in the scenery and observe the wildlife from the safari vehicle’s open top. You arrive at your park lodge in the evening.
Dinner and overnight at Marera Lodge
After breakfast, you will journey through the cooler highlands into the southern Serengeti, arriving at the park’s plains by lunchtime. This park, which is the biggest in Tanzania, offers a variety of ecosystems and landforms, including marshes, lakes, short-grass plains, and savannah. Predators are frequently observed in the grassy area, which is dotted with bizarre rock formations called kopjes. The annual migration of wildebeests and zebras across the Serengeti to find new pasture and water is what makes the region renowned.
Dinner and overnight at Embalakai Tented Camps.
The Serengeti National Park dedicates the entire day to wildlife watching. Where the migratory herds are will determine which regions you visit. Predators like lions, leopards (in the acacia trees), and cheetahs usually trail the trekking animals closely. The herds migrate from the northern hills to the southern plains during the brief rainy season in November and December. They move back up north during the lengthier rainy season, which lasts from April to June. The position of the herds may change from year to year because the migration is entirely reliant on the annual rainfalls, but your guide will know where to look for the animals and where to get the greatest views of them.
Dinner and overnight at Embalakai tented camp.
Before leaving the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon to continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will get to see more wildlife on your way out of the park entrance. You will pass the incredibly indigenous Maasai tribe and their purely traditional way of life on the route. You’ll spend the night in a resort on Ngorongoro ridge.
Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge
You will descend the Ngorongoro crater 600 meters for gaming after breakfast. Over 25,000 creatures, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard) as well as spotted hyenas, rare warthogs, and some of the region’s more than 500 bird species, call the vast fallen volcano home. You will depart the caldera in the late afternoon after a lengthy wildlife drive and a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Then, you will travel to the Kilimanjaro airport in preparation for your departure to Zanzibar.
Accommodation: Tausi Hotel
You will be picked up by our guide and driven to Fumba village this morning after breakfast. The cruise departs from Fumba Beach at 9 am for Kwale Island and returns at 3:30 pm. If you’re in Zanzibar, you shouldn’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience. From Fumba Beach to Kwale Island, you will travel together in a traditional Dhow. On Kwale Island, you will view the spectacular natural Mangrove Lagoon. You will also get the chance to see a natural sandbank form with wonderful swimming in the surrounding clear water. You will be consuming seafood that is truly natural and prepared according to tradition. You will travel to Fumba Village and then Stone Town after lunch.
Accommodation: Tausi Hotel
After breakfast, our guide will meet you and take you on a tour of Stone Town. The Old Stone Town is a section of Zanzibar City, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 2000. You will explore Zanzibar’s wonderful labyrinths and most historical sites, such as the House of Wonders (national museums), old fort, old slave market, fruits and fish market, spice market, bazaar, streets, Zanzibar curved door, and their roles, while traveling across the crumbling buildings of the old town with your guide. You will eat lunch in a local restaurant today on Stone Town street. You will proceed to Nungwi beach in the north after lunch.
Accommodation: Aman Beach Bungalow Hotel
The remainder of your time will be spent relaxing at Zanzibar’s best beach. Nungwi is regarded as Zanzibar’s most beautiful and nicest beach. Your time and money will always be well spent if you spend any time here. It’s time to unwind, take a nap, and stop worrying.
Hotel: Bed and breakfast basis.
Your reliance today will be on your flight timing. Until your ideal time to be picked up, you may still enjoy the beach if you have time. On schedule, our driver will pick you up and take you to the airport for your return trip.
