This is a 7-day itinerary for the Rongai Route on Mount Kilimanjaro. The route is a steady ascent, making it a good option for those with less experience. The itinerary includes a day of acclimatization at Mawenzi Tarn, which helps to reduce the risk of altitude sickness. The final day of the climb is a long and challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit, there is a descent to Horombo Hut, followed by a final descent to Marangu Gate.
The itinerary also includes 3 days in Zanzibar, a beautiful island off the coast of Tanzania. In Zanzibar, you can explore the historic city of Stone Town, go on a spice tour, or relax on the beach.
Embark on a thrilling 3-day climb up Mount Kilimanjaro via the Rongai Route. Over these three days, you will gradually ascend through diverse landscapes, including lush rainforests and moorlands. The route offers stunning views and a chance to acclimatize to the increasing altitude. Experienced guides will lead you, ensuring your safety and comfort throughout the journey.
On the fourth day, reach the ultimate goal of your Kilimanjaro climb – the majestic Uhuru Peak. Start in the early hours of the morning to witness a breathtaking sunrise at the summit. The trek to Uhuru Peak is challenging but incredibly rewarding. Stand on the highest point in Africa and savor the incredible accomplishment.
After conquering Kilimanjaro, take a well-deserved break and head to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar Island. Spend the next eight days exploring the island’s stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and rich history. Relax on pristine white sands, swim in turquoise waters, and indulge in delicious local cuisine. Explore the charming Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and immerse yourself in the island’s unique blend of African, Arab, and European influences.
Day 13: Departure Bid farewell to Zanzibar with unforgettable memories and head back home or continue your journey to other destinations.
Catch a flight (Precision Air) from Arusha at 11:00 AM, arriving in Zanzibar at 12:15 PM. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your chosen hotel in Stone Town, such as Serena Inn, for overnight stay.
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel for two tours of your choice, such as Spice Tour, Historical Stone Town Tour, Jozani Forest Tour, Prison Island Tour, or Sunset Cruise. Dolphin tours can be arranged upon request.
Enjoy a day at leisure, taking the time to rest and relax at your hotel in Stone Town.
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your East Coast hotel and transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to either Dar-Es-Salaam, Arusha (Kilimanjaro Airport), or Nairobi (Jomo Kenyatta Airport) to connect with your departure flight back home.
