11 Days Mount Kilimanjaro & Zanzibar Beach

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a driver who will transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Here, you will meet your guides and receive a detailed orientation about your upcoming adventure. They will also check your gear to ensure you are fully prepared for the journey.

After breakfast, we will drive to the Machame Gate, the starting point of our trek. The 45-minute drive will take us through scenic coffee farms and local villages. At the gate, we will register for the climb while our porters and guides finalize their preparations. Our first day’s destination is the Machame Camp, where we will hike through the moss-covered cloud forest and witness the transformation of vegetation as we gain altitude. The camp will be ready upon our arrival for a well-deserved rest.

Today’s hike will take us through uphill sections as we make our way to the Shira Camp. Along the way, we will enjoy breathtaking views of forest canopies, golden plains, and the towering peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. The landscape gradually changes, and we will encounter high altitude plants unique to Kilimanjaro. We will reach the Shira Plateau and set up camp for the night, with Kibo and Mount Meru in sight.

Our trek continues with a mix of uphill and downhill sections. Despite the modest elevation gain, it is an important day for acclimatization. We will hike across the expansive Shira Plateau, passing the junction of the Shira and Lemosho Routes. The barren alpine desert landscape unfolds before us, showcasing the beauty of Kibo’s glaciers. Our destination is the picturesque Barranco Camp, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

We begin the day with a challenging climb up the Barranco Wall, where we will use our hands to navigate certain sections. After conquering the wall, we descend into the Karanga Valley, marveling at the glaciers of Kibo along the way. The trail leads us to the Barafu Camp, located in a bleak alpine desert. From here, we prepare for the final ascent to the summit, Uhuru Peak.

Today is the pinnacle of our journey as we make our way to the summit of Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. We start our ascent before midnight, using headlamps to illuminate the path. The climb to the crater rim is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding. As the sun rises, we reach the summit and celebrate our achievement amidst breathtaking views. After taking in the beauty of the surroundings, we descend to the Mweka Camp, where we spend the night.

Our final day on the mountain involves a pleasant hike through the mystical cloud forest. We urge caution as the trail can be slippery. Upon reaching the Mweka Gate, you can purchase souvenirs and celebrate your accomplishment. Our vehicle will transport you back to Moshi, where you can relax and reflect on your incredible Kilimanjaro experience.

Today, we bid farewell to Moshi as we board a flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, our driver will transfer you to Kendwa, a beautiful coastal village in the northern part of the island. Here, you can enjoy the golden sandy beaches and sparkling turquoise waters, immersing yourself in the beauty of Zanzibar.

These days are dedicated to leisure and relaxation in Kendwa. You have the freedom to bask in the sun, partake in water activities, or explore the island’s attractions. Optional tours, such as the Stone Town Historical Tour, Spice Tour, Prison Island Tour, or engaging in water sports, can be arranged to enhance your Zanzibar experience.

After a delightful breakfast, we will provide transportation to Zanzibar International Airport, where you will connect to your departure flight.
