Hostel Hoff began as a tiny business in 2006, with the goal of assisting volunteers/interns in avoiding multinational profit-driven “organizations.” We believe that individuals should not be required to pay to volunteer, thus we simply ask volunteers to cover their lodging and food.
Despite the fact that there are other hostels in Moshi, none compare to the Hoff. We provide the space and environment for individuals to unwind, have fun, chat, work, and watch DVDs. People travel from all over the world and stay anywhere from a month to a year. The hostel is about a 5-minute walk from the town center and a 4000Tshs (around USD$2.50) taxi ride from any of the city’s most prominent eateries. You may relax, play sports, or read on the hammock in our huge yard.

The majority of the accommodations are dorm rooms, with a few private two-person rooms available for couples or friends traveling together. Depending on the size of the room and the time of year you visit (off-season, there will likely be less people; peak season, well, it’s an opportunity to make more close friends! ), there are between 2 and 6 beds each room. The hostel focuses on a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere that will seem like your second home after a few weeks. Because the majority of those who stay are solo travelers, it provides a chance for people to live with and establish friends with other travelers and volunteers. There are several communal sitting spaces and rooms, allowing for a variety of activities. Many common-use materials, such as paper, paints, and medical supplies, have been left in the hostel by prior travellers/volunteers.
