World cup adventures

As the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 adventures are nearing the climax and eventually come to a close in about two weeks when the national teams play the finals and semi-finals, it is time to seek new adventures. Now, since there are direct flights from Doha to major international airports in Tanzania like The Julius Nyerere airport in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania invites you for even better adventures not even related to football, or as the Americans call it, soccer. For safaris, Zanzibar beach holidays, and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, it would be prudent to catch a direct flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, the nearest airport to Moshi, the nearest town to Africa’s highest peak, and Arusha, the tourist hub to East African safaris. With Tranquil Kilimanjaro, we promise you nothing but the best of this beautiful country called Tanzania.

Here are the top outdoor adventures we recommend in Tanzania.

1. Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro

The best activity in Tanzania, in our opinion, is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Awe-inspiring views of the Furtwängler Glacier may be had by ascending to Africa’s top.

Choose your route and trekking package here

The Machame Path is the most spectacular route, and it provides you an extra day to adjust to the height. You will have a great chance of completing one of the world’s most renowned climbs. When you reach the peak, it is an achievement to be proud of at 5895 meters. Don’t skip this once-in-a-lifetime journey.

The premier wildlife attraction in Africa is Serengeti National Park. With good cause, too! Over a million wildebeest and hundreds of other African herbivores like gazelles and zebras travel over its vast grasslands every year.

But don’t restrict yourself to the migratory season. Lions, cheetahs, elephants, and leopards may all be seen in the Serengeti all year long as they live in their native habitats on the vast African plains.

Without some island time, no journey is complete, and Zanzibar is a heaven on earth.

This spice island is gorgeous below the surface as well, with its white sand beaches and turquoise water.

Snorkelers will be pleased with what they see as well since it is thought to offer some of the greatest diving on the entire east coast of Africa. View More. Go to Nungwi in the north of the island to snorkel at the Kendwa Reef, which is barely 800 meters offshore.

4. Explore Zanzibar’s Beaches

The world’s most stunning beaches may be found in Zanzibar. The beaches take you to paradise, while Stone Town offers you a sense of old Arabia. Zanzibar has several beaches to choose from, including Nungwi, Paje, Jambiani, Matemwe, and others. Check out Zanzibar’s top beaches.

Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar Beach5. Stone Town, where Freddie Mercury was born

Although Stone Town may be explored on foot, Zanzibar is most renowned for its beaches and blue ocean.

It was a delight for us to view the entrance of Freddie Mercury’s home and stop by Mercury’s bar for a drink as he was born in Zanzibar. There are a lot of other things to do in this UNESCO World Heritage town, so perhaps I am too much of a Queen fan.

Sadly, it formerly reigned supreme in the slave trade and the spice trade. Smell the spices, explore the historic fort and night markets, and marvel at the famed Zanzibar doors (Freddie Mercurie’s old house has a door that says Mercurie’s residence).

Hot tip: The streets of stone towns may get quite hot. To stay cool, choose accommodations near the beach.

6. Be Astounded By The Rift Valley

The Great Rift Valley extends from Lebanon to Africa, Tanzania, and Mozambique before coming to a conclusion.

It is a stunning, huge area in Tanzania that is home to the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater.

For the greatest possible perspective of this enormous valley, stay at the Kilimamoja Lodge.

7. Visit Oldupai Gorge, home of the early man

The Oldupai Gorge otherwise known as the Olduvai Gorge is regarded to being the birthplace of humanity. Mary and Louise Leakey made the discovery that the earliest human species existed and date back three million years in the 1970s. This important discovery proved that humanity originated in Africa.

8. Ride a hot air balloon

Nothing compares to riding in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti Plains if you want to splash out.

Have a thrilling experience flying across Africa and observing wildlife from above. Champagne and breakfast are served as the flight ends, helping you start the day off well!

Be aware that Serengeti balloon safaris may cost up to $600, but if it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, it’s worth every cent.

9. Visit Tarangire National Park, Home of the Giants

The Tarangire National Park in Tanzania may not be the biggest or most well-known park, but it has some serious punch.

We encountered some of the most unusual animals in Tanzania at Tarangire. Tarangire is a fantastic place to watch African wildlife, including lions in trees and ostriches mating.

We were able to marvel at wildlife entering the park at sunrise and sunset while staying at the Sopa Lodge inside the park.

Tarangire is rightfully nicknamed the home of the giants, thanks to the many gigantic baobab trees that make up the amazing landscape of the Tarangire, as you encounter herds of giant elephants roaming around the Tarangire River.

The world’s biggest intact caldera that is not covered by water, it is home to 45,000 creatures coexisting peacefully.

It is a magnificent experience to visit the Ngorongoro crater and see the animals that live inside the volcano. The environment is home to enormous herds of wildebeest, zebras, and elephants. You may even come across a few lions, and if you’re lucky, a rhino could cross your path.

You must visit a Masai Tribe while in East Africa. The Maasai people that inhabit both Kenya and Tanzania are the most preserved culture in Africa.

Masai warriors and the original nomads will welcome you into their communities and demonstrate how they build fire while performing for you and jumping impressively in the air.

You will be captivated by their wonderful vocals, and you won’t be able to leave without delving deep into your pockets to purchase a memento.

The biggest lake in Africa, Lake Victoria, is the source of the White Nile. After Lake Superior, it is the second-largest freshwater lake in the world. This lake, which Tanzania shares a border with Kenya and Uganda, is a must-see when traveling there. Although it is one of Tanzania’s least frequented locations, you may go on boat cruises, and rock climbing adventures near Mwanza and enjoy some amazing bird viewing on its beaches.

13. Lake Manyara, the home of the tree-climbing lions

Lake Manyara National Park is the best location for bird viewing if you want to go somewhere more well-known.

The number of pink flamingos in this alkaline lake is well known. But in addition to the huge numbers of flamingos moving, you may also witness storks, kingfishers, and eagles. Though it’s not only for the birds; we were equally entranced by the baboon colony that was moving to the forest in a mass fashion a la Planet of the Apes and the statuesque giraffes that were reflected in the lake.
