The Old and well-maintained Mount Meru Game Lodge stands as a testament to its enduring legacy and natural harmony nestled in the lush landscape between the Usa River and the Mount Meru Wildlife Reserve since time immemorial. Established in 1959 by Dr. Andreas Von Nagy, a dedicated wildlife enthusiast, the lodge was initially an orphanage for wild animals. Over the decades, it has evolved into a sanctuary for both animals and humans seeking solace in nature. Today, managed by the descendants of Dr. Von Nagy, the lodge continues to radiate an aura of vintage charm while providing modern comforts.

The 24 chalet rooms and our main Lodge buildings are surrounded by lush jungle-like gardens with tall palm and mango trees, where Colobus and other monkeys rule supreme, and a small dam where yellow-billed storks gather and water buffalo graze. Our grounds are filled with peaceful spots that are ideal for relaxing, reflecting, and taking in the ambience.
