Where Do the Kilimanjaro Climbs Begin?
Our climbs usually begin in Moshi, which is just a 40 km or 25 miles drive away. Moshi is the gateway town to Mount Kilimanjaro and the Kilimanjaro basecamp, located at the foot of the mountain with an elevation of approximately 914 meters or 3,000 feet to the south.
The nearest international airport to Moshi is the Kilimanjaro International Airport (K.I.A), which is just about 40 minutes drive away with a distance of 40 km or 25 miles in between.
We can arrange airport transfers, to and from the Kilimanjaro International Airport to the hotel.
Airport Transfers are available at any time, be it day or night time even if it is early morning or late evening.
Where are you coming from?

Choosing your flight to Tanzania for Kilimanjaro climb
The are many sources of finding your flight to the Kilimanjaro International Airport, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi or any nearest airport for your Mount Kilimanjaro climb.
Vayama is a great source for finding domestic Tanzanian flights if you want to choose mountain climbing add-ons or just to extend your vacation to other parts of Tanzania or East Africa, such as Zanzibar, Kenya, Rwanda or Uganda.
Even though you can find your way to Moshi by flying into other airports near Moshi or Tanzania like the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or the Dar es Salaam International Airport we still think the best option would be to fly into the Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Why choose Kilimanjaro international Airport over other Airports?
Flights may be cheaper flying into the other airports than flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport but getting to Moshi from Nairobi requires you to have an overnight stay in Nairobi for the night.
You also have to purchase a Kenyan visa apart from your Tanzanian visa a 6 to 7-hour bus ride for crossing the border from Kenya to Tanzania.
Choosing Dar es Salaam also as your airport would require a more than 8-9 hour bus ride after an overnight stay.
If you are in Arusha, which is 80 km or 50 miles away, we can arrange to pick you up and drop you off using a private car if needed.
Taxis and shuttles commuting between Moshi and Arusha are readily available, a journey that might take you approximately an hour and 40 minutes or so.
Either way, you need to get to Moshi first as it is the only town that we use as the basecamp for climbing Kilimanjaro.
